Art and Craft Workshops
This month’s workshops at the Creston Arts Center included a Gelli Printing with Sarah from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15th; a Paint with Melissa! themed Joyride Pup from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 18th; and a Kids’ Cartooning with Rick Friday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22nd. Art on Deck Exhibit
Creston Arts will be holding a special opening exhibit for those who participated in the Art on Deck workshops from April. This gallery will exhibit the skateboard decks painted by over a dozen artists. Reception and open house takes place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Creston Arts Center. Light refreshments and summer camp will be available. There is no charge to attend.
Monthly Poetry Workshop
This month’s poetry workshop is A Walk In The Woods: Senses & Spring Ephemerals. Participants will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2nd at the Green Valley State Park Campground Paved Trail. This class is for adults 18 and older. RSVP is encouraged at www.crestonarts.com.
POTLUCK by SWCC Student Art
This year's SWCC Student Exhibition revolves around the theme of "Potluck". Each piece showcased represents a unique interpretation of food or food-based items. Spanning across various disciplines including 3D Design, Ceramics, Drawing I and II, Graphic Design, and Art Appreciation, and contributions from over 30 students this exhibition promises a delectable feast for the senses. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 3rd, at the Creston Arts Depot Gallery, 116 W. Adams St. Light refreshments will be served.
