About the Artist
Lawrence Earl Nash, born on March 6, 1950, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, graduated from Oregon High School in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart. He married Shirley Elaine Cook in 1969, and they had a daughter, Jennifer, in 1972, but divorced in the 1980s. After years with little contact, Jennifer reconnected with Earl in 1993, fostering a friendly relationship. As Earl's health declined, he lived in a convalescent home and later at a veteran’s home until his death on May 27, 2024. He was buried in Oregon, Missouri, alongside his family. Jennifer inherited his art collection and aims to share their complicated father-daughter story through it, highlighting the absence of bitterness despite their distant relationship. Earl's experiences in Vietnam are preserved through letters and photos, helping Jennifer feel closer to him.
